Leading nutrition research society.  Publishes the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition and The Journal of Nutrition.


Institute for Functional Medicine

Represents and provides educational programs for clinicians focused on applying functional medicine in practice.


International & American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists

American Academy of Environmental Medicine

Focused on educating practitioners in environmental medicine and promoting an understanding of the underlying causes of illness in chronic, complex disease.  Also publishes the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine.

Environmental Working Group
Public interest watchdog focused on environmental health issues.


National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS)

NIH division focused on environmental health issues.  Publishes the free peer-reviewed journal, Environmental Health Perspectives.



Autism


A-Champ

A group focused on following and affecting public policy change with regard to children with neurodevelopmental and communication disorders.


Autism Media

Provides audio and video clips of people involved with biomedical treatment of autism, as well as public policy issues.


Autism Research Institute

Original organization advocating the use of biomedical treatment for autistic spectrum disorders.  Started the Defeat Autism Now! (DAN!) doctor network.  Puts on large conferences twice a year to bring together parents and practitioners to discuss the latest treatment approaches.


Generation Rescue

Strongly advocates that the mercury-based preservative thimerosal in vaccines has been responsible for the rise in autism, and that biomedical treatment to reduce heavy metal burden can help lead to recovery.


National Autism Association

Another organization working to show that environmental toxins are implicated in the increased rate of autism, and that biomedical treatments can help affected individuals to recover.


Put Children First

Created by the people who created Generation Rescue, this site provides an excellent summary of the likely cover-up by the CDC of the relationship between thimerosal and the epidemic of autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders observed in children.


SafeMinds

An organization working to raise the awareness of the dangers of mercury exposure in children, especially through vaccines.  Active in political and legal areas, as well as helping to fund some medical research.



Dental Amalgams


Consumers for Dental Choice

Organization advocating elimination of the use of mercury amalgams in dentistry. Actively involved in pursuing the passage of legislation at both the state and federal level.
